The SEND & Inclusion Partnership Board is made up of senior representatives of key city partner organisations who meet regularly to provide strategic direction to improve the lives of children and young people with SEND and additional support needs.
Our partners
- City of Wolverhampton Council is the governing body responsible for managing and overseeing various services within the city of Wolverhampton, including support for special educational needs, such as identification, assessment, provision of resources, and coordination of services to ensure inclusive and effective education for all children and young people.
- NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board are responsible for managing the local NHS budget and developing a plan to ensure services are there to meet the health needs of local people.
- The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust is a National Health Service (NHS) trust that provides healthcare services in and around Wolverhampton, delivering a range of medical services, including hospital care, community healthcare, and specialised treatments.
- Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provide specialist mental health, learning disability, and community healthcare services for the population of the Black Country.
- Wolverhampton Information, Advice and Support Service provide impartial information, advice and support on matters relating to a child or young person’s special educational needs or disability from birth to 25 years.
- Wolverhampton Voluntary Community Action provide dedicated support by working alongside people, communities, groups and organisations that make up Wolverhampton’s voluntary and community sector.
- Voice4Parents are Wolverhampton's Parent Carer Forum which represent the views and voices of Parents and Carers of Children and Young People in Wolverhampton with SEND to improve and shape future service provision across education, health and social care services within the local area.
- HY5! Youth Forum are a dedicated group of young people which help to inspire change for fellow youngsters with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the city. The members of HY5! have special educational needs or disabilities themselves and have joined together to raise awareness of issues that affect them and to help drive further improvements in SEND services.
- Wolverhampton Educational Establishments provide different levels and stage across Wolverhampton including Nurseries and Early Years Settings, Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Colleges, Specialist Schools and Adult Education and Lifelong Learning Centres.
What we do
The SEND and Inclusion Partnership Board are responsible for oversight of the delivery in the SEND and Inclusion strategy and the SEND and Inclusion Improvement Plan.
Multi-agency implementation Groups (which include co-production with potential and actual end users of the services to be offered for children, young people and their families) develop and deliver action plans to meet the expectations within the strategy as detailed below.
Implementation Groups meet regularly and report directly to the SEND and Inclusion Partnership Board, through highlight reports and spotlights on focussed areas.
SEND and Inclusion Partnership Board ensure that actions are being completed in a timely way to address our priorities and monitor the progress against our identified outcomes.
If progress is not being made, the board will support with shared solutions and seek to advise those who have responsibility to provide that service.
SEND Partnership Board are accountable to the Health and Wellbeing Together Board, via the Children and Families Together Board.
