Requirements to provide health advice to the Local Authority

As part of the EHC Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process, local authorities will request health advice from any health professional relevant to a child or young person.

Health professionals have a legal responsibility to return health advice to the local authority within six weeks. View EHC Needs Assessment to find out more about the Local Authorities process in gathering information.

Health advice is also requested  as part of any annual review of an EHC Plan.
